I miss and love you so much Mom
Bessie Posey, a great lady, wife, and mom. Mom was born in Edinburgh, Indiana on September 23, 1932 and passed away on November 29, 2006 in Columbus, Indiana.
She married Clifton Roy Posey (http://www.clifton-posey.memory-of.com/about.aspx) on October 4, 1948. They have six children: Vickie Reynolds, Clifton Posey Jr, Patricia Rice, Lonnie Posey, Janice Wood, and Annie Grindstaff. They have twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mom was someone that we all could confide in. There was never one time that she would turn any of us away. We have some wonderful memories of her that we hold dear to us within our hearts.
Mom was someone that no matter what, she was there helping you out. There was not one time that I can recall that mom didn't help one of us kids out. She was just like dad she always was there for us. Mom worked at Saps Bakery for many years. She was the type she was tickled for anything she got...Mom thought the world of when we would all get together and have a big dinner. Mom didn't really get out alot cause of her health but when she did me and her would go to the mall or go get something to eat at a restaurant but she would always wanna buy someone else something ..never for herself. She loved collecting dolls, watches and purses ..well mom would have a watch for every day of the year and if one of us came in the house and she liked it well we had to take it off and give it to her..but funny thing is we'd only see her wear it that one time.
Mom was one of a kind, she truly was I remember countless times we would sit at the dining room table and play cards or play yahtzee (moms favorite game). She would win and she would get so tickled ..laugh and cut up ...but she hated to lose.
We loss one special person when we loss mom. Mom had alot of health issues...diabetic, seizures, heart, blood pressure, stroke, I mean the list goes on and on..she was taking all kinds of medicines every day. But the one thing that she couldn't take a medicine for is heart break. When we lost dad I think that was when mom pretty much gave up . They were married for almost 59 years. I think she was over it she wanted to be with dad so bad. I think mom truly knew within her heart that she was going to go home cause she told me and my sister patty about two months before she went into the hospital. She had said she was going home to be with her baby . And well they buried mom on dads birthday Dec. 2. Theres alot of people that is gonna miss her..but we also know that we will get to see mom and dad again in heaven!!
Mom this is not goodbye this is a c-ya later ...I Love and Miss you soo much!!
DEAR LORD,
YOU GAVE ME AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN
WHO TENDED TO ME EVERY DAY

WATCHED AND PRAYED AS I WENT ON MY WAY
MY ANGEL PROTECTED ME ALWAYS
AND VIGILANT EVER WAS SHE
WHILE FASTING AND PRAYING FOR OTHERS
AND FAITHFULLY CALLING ON THEE
MY ANGEL FROM HEAVEN DID LOVE ME
I WAS BLESSED FROM THE DAY I WAS BORN
FOR THAT ANGEL WAS MY PRECIOUS MOTHER
AND NOW, HER DEPARTURE I MOURN
SO PLEASE FATHER GIVE HER THAT MANSION
SHE TALKED ABOUT TIME AFTER TIME
LET HER SING IN YOUR HEAVENLY CHOIR
AMONG ANGELS 'VOICES SUBLIME
PLEASE BLESS HER AND KEEP HER FOREVER
IN HEAVEN AWAY FROM ALL PAIN
AND HELP ME TO BE MUCH MORE LIKE HER
SO I CAN BE WITH HER AGAIN
AMEN
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was
walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the
sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he
noticed two sets of footprints in the sand: one
belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When
the last scene of his life flashed before him, he
looked back at the footprints in the sand. He
noticed that many times along the path of his life
there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed
that it happened at the very lowest and saddest
times in his life. This really bothered him and he
questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, You said that
once I decided to follow you, You'd walk with me all
the way. But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life, there is only one set
of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed
you most you would leave me." The Lord replied,
"My son, My precious child, I love you and I would
never leave you. During your times of trial and
suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it
was then that I Carried You."
You were a precious gift from God above,
so much beauty, grace and love.
You touched our hearts in so many ways,
your smile so bright even on the bad days.
You heard God's whisper calling you home,
you didn't want to go and leave us alone.
You loved us so much, you held on tight,
till all the strength was gone and you could no longer fight.
He had called your name once before,
you knew you couldn't make him wait anymore.
So you gave your hand to God and slowly drifted away,
knowing that with our love we will be together again some day.
To My Dearest Family:
Some things I'd like to say
but first of all to let you know
that I arrived okay
I'm writing this from Heaven
where I dwell with God above
where there's no more tears
or sadness there
is just eternal love
Please do not be unhappy
just because I'm out of sight
remember that I'm with you
every morning, noon and night
That day I had to leave you
when my life on Earth was through
God picked me up and hugged me
and He said I welcome you
It's good to have you back again
you were missed while you were gone
as for your dearest family
they'll be here later on
I need you here so badly
as part of My big plan
there's so much that we have to do
to help our mortal man
Then God gave me a list of things
He wished for me to do
and foremost on that list of mine
is to watch and care for you
And I will be beside you
every day and week and year
and when you're sad
I'm standing there
to wipe away the tear
And when you lie in bed at night
the days chores put to flight
God and I are closest to you
in the middle of the night
When you think of my life on Earth
and all those loving years
because you're only human
they are bound to bring you tears
But do not be afraid to cry
it does relieve the pain
remember there would be no flowers
unless there was some rain
I wish that I could tell you
of all that God has planned
but if I were to tell you
you wouldn't understand
But one thing is for certain
though my life on Earth is o're
I am closer to you now
than I ever was before
And to my very many friends
trust God knows what is best
I'm still not far away from you
I'm just beyond the crest
There are rocky roads ahead of you
and many hills to climb
but together we can do it
taking one day at a time
It was always my philosophy
and I'd like it for you too
that as you give unto the World
so the World will give to you
If you can help somebody
who is in sorrow or in pain
then you can say to God at night
my day was not in vain
And now I am contented
that my life it was worthwhile
knowing as I passed along the way
I made somebody smile
So if you meet somebody
who is down and feeling low
just lend a hand to pick him up
as on your way you go
When you are walking
down the street
and you've got me on your mind
I'm walking in your footsteps
only half a step behind
And when you feel the gentle breeze
or the wind upon your face
that's me giving you a great big hug
or just a soft embrace
And when it's time for you to go
from that body to be free
remember you're not going
you are coming here to me
And I will always love you
from that land way up above
Will be in touch again soon
P.S. God sends His Love
